Elusive (Lars Jacobsen) is a mildly neurotic DJ and producer from Oslo, Norway. He has been active in dance music for almost a decade; arranging parties, hosting radio shows as well as working as a journalist.
He is perhaps best known as resident on “Oslo Nights” (www.oslonights.com), but has also been creating a name as a producer for the last few years. The biggest obstacle for him personally has been to develop patience when producing.
As a teenager, Lars was playing lead guitar in horrible rock bands, which always ended up in 30-second tracks with little or no melody. As he grew an ear for electronic music, he entered the scene as a young DJ. A few years into it, he released “Surviving the chills” along with then famous Norwegian export, DJ Stigma.
As a producer, Lars has released material on labels such as Lost Language, Red Flag Collective, Baroque, Looq, and Presslab Records. The string of new releases coming out in 2007 is a result of Elusive finally growing some patience. All the years of frustrated tweaking has meant producing quite the arsenal of music in different genres, which reflects Elusive’s musical personality. He does not wish to write and produce within one single genre. He wishes to be original and versatile.
The now 30-year old full-time student has been DJing in USA, Holland, Turkey, Scandinavia, Slovakia etc. and now his music is being played across the world as well. DJs such as Sasha, Paul Van Dyk and James Zabiela have been supporting new Elusive music.
